How a tea seller is became the Prime Minister of India?

The whole world knows that India’s Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi Ji used to sell tea at a tea stall and today he is the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democratic country. Many people question his becoming the Prime Minister and his qualifications, but very few people know how much he struggled from selling tea to becoming the Prime Minister.

Let us try to know about the struggling journey of Modi Ji which made him capable of reaching the post of Prime Minister

First phase of Struggle Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, north-eastern Gujarat, three years after India’s independence. At the age of 17, he left home to travel across India and at the age of 19 joined the RSS to serve the country and in 1972 worked as an RSS pracharak from Ahmedabad, working from 05:00 am to 10:00 pm and reaching home by 11:00 pm! During the 1980s, while handling various responsibilities within the Sangh, Narendra Modi emerged as an ideal organizer with his organizational skills.

Second phase of Struggle – The next chapter of Modi Ji’s life began in 1987 when he started working as the General Secretary of the BJP in Gujarat. Modi Ji’s hard work led to the BJP’s victory in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections for the first time. He also ensured that the BJP finished second after the Congress in the 1990 Gujarat Assembly elections and the 1995 Assembly elections, Shri Modi’s organizational skills ensured that the BJP’s vote percentage increased. The party won 121 seats in the Assembly. Shri Modi worked as the National Secretary of the BJP from 1995 and oversaw the party’s activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. As the BJP’s Organization General Secretary, he worked to ensure the BJP’s victory in the 1998 Lok Sabha elections.

Third phase of Struggle – In September 2001, Shri Modi received a call from then Prime Minister Vajpayee, which opened a new chapter in his life and took him from the hustle and bustle of organizational politics to the world of governance. In October 2001, Shri Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat till 22 May 2014. Narendra Modi’s path to building Vibrant Gujarat as a shining example of development and governance was not easy. It was a path filled with hardships and challenges. If one constant characteristic of Narendra Modi has emerged during the last decade, it is his strong leadership despite severe adversities. Shri Narendra Modi’s approach to governance has always been above politics. Shri Modi has never allowed political differences to come in the way of tackling development challenges.

After more than 30 years of struggle, he became eligible for the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat and after completing his three successful tenures as Chief Minister of Gujarat he became eligible for the post of Prime Minister of India. After doing so, if he is not eligible for the post of Prime Minister of India, what are the criteria for that post?
